Plastic People – Pink Narcisius
Label: AF Music
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 00:43:41
The new raucous indie rock album from I Am The Devil.
After releasing the demo “Good As You” last year, which was quite electro-rock oriented, Sébastien Ficagna aka Plastic People decided to return to his acoustic roots on his new album “Pink Narcisius”. Accordion and folk guitars mash up with an electronic backbone and create a fascinating psychedelic post-punk cabaret.
“Pink Narcisius” is an album containing great songs, which are performed with melancholic vitality. Cold Wave, Rock and Folk mix to a winking journey into the mind of an intelligent songwriter, who embed with those cover versions of “In Heaven” from David Lynch’s cult film” Eraserhead” and Tuxedomoon’s “In A Manner Of Speaking” two idiosyncratic interpretations to his complete works.

The Silence Industry – Permanent Crisis
Label: AF Music
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 00:36:39
“Permanent Crisis” is meanwhile the 6th release of The Silence Industry. The 5-song EP continues, what has begun with the parent “The Teeth of Tomorrow”. Complex guitars in gothic rock robe, combined with elaborate bass riffs offer a thrilling feeling of angst.
As the title “Permanent Crisis” reveals, it is a very pessimistic release. Though the desire and the yearning are present in every moment, as everyone awaits it from The Silence Industry. A more than adequately retrospect of modern Goth-Rock on the ruins of the information era.

The Nightchild – Another Shadow
Label: AF Music
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 01:02:13
After the first, self-released album of The Nightchild - a two-headed band from Donetsk (Ukraine) - named "The Other" (2009), which was a big success, now the second album "Another Shadow" (2010) will be re-released as a special and analogue remastered version on afmusic.
The band's roots in the dark times of the 80's Gothic Rock-movement and they clearly maintain its gritty sound without letting the listeners miss neither musically innovations nor an extraordinary sound. The mostly emotional vocals, the well-aimed use of guitar and keyboard and the driving bass guitar comp all the pieces - from faster ones over catchy mid-tempo-songs up to emotive ballads.
This re-release has completely been re-recorded and extended with three bonus tracks from the EP "With Me" (2010). Actually it comes up with guest appearences of three singers: Dimitry Flo (DoppelgängeR) in "Insects In The Amber", Alien Moongazer (Spectral Blight) in "The Nameless Ghost" and Marie Himmelsweit (Puppet Lane) in "With Me", whose voices perfectly entwines with THE NIGHTCHILD’s music.
With "Another Shadow", THE NIGHTCHILD presents an album, which definitely can compete with the classics of gothic rock and offers a pretty gloomy atmosphere associated with intoxicating, emotional melodies, which simply carry along.

Moonrise – Blackest Blue

GENRE: Rock, Gothic Rock, Indie, Wave![]()
Label: af music
Release date: 2009
Total running time: 01:03:10
After several EPs it’s now time for moonrise’s first fulltime album. The band managed to refine their sound and create a diverse, manifold, powerful and very special opus. special, because of its unique sound. The opener “Blackest Blue” starts with a light spring tune and evoles into a rocking midtempo song climaxing in the anthemic verse “don’t let me be your enemy”. “Nichts Gespürt”, the second track has long been one of the highlights of moonrise-concerts. A real hit with cynical lyrics that gets everyone singing along. The seemingly shy “Semidemonic Pleasures” becomes more and more demonic, pleasing the listeners till the end. While the fourth track “7 Years” reminds one of tears for fears “don’t you forget about me”, the fifth song “Crucify” really gets things cooking and in retrospection makes the other songs sound like a warm up. This one will get you hooked (if the others didn’t already). And while they’re at it, moonrise won’t let you sit still but with “Regret” put some more coal on the fire. With the seventh song moonrise start winding down again, after all tranquillity breeds strength. While based on Ludwig van Beethovens “Moonlightserenade” “Kiss of the moon” sounds like one of Hazel O’Conners brilliant songs in “Breaking Glass”-typical moonrise. “Embrace” continues and “embraces” this mood adding some triphop elements and a voice erupting and almost exploding in the end. With “For Her Love We Cry” moonrise deliver yet another classical goth-rock song: a pounding bass, snotty guitars, another angelic choir. Spiced up with catchy vocals in German and English, this tracks gets goth-rock fans begging for more. The penultimate song “Through Mists I Walk” shows all of the bands variety in one piece: From an easy going start the track continues to unfold an incredibly deep sadness. an electronic chirr here, powerful rock there, more psychodelic moments and grand melodies everywhere. Finally “Paula” – Moonrise could not have chosen a better finale to “Blackest Blue”. Another deep and deeply sad song that graps your soul creating a pendant to the beginning of the album: the circle is now complete.

Shino – Winter Solstice

GENRE: Rock, Gothic, Acoustic, Dark![]()
Label: AFmusic
Release date: 2009
Total running time: 0:21:13
A mixture of Johnny Cash and Lestat from “Chroniken der Vampire (Chronicles Of Vamire)” and therefore an utterly new and individual dimension of music getting under your skin and running through the blood straight to human’s hearts; being kept in a minimalistic way, yet so complex in its lively emotion and its sense of touching lyrics. Acoustic guitars and a clear voice, this is “Acoustic Gothic” – melancholic darkness finding its salvation through the light of consciously taken emotions. A hand leading the listener through his own mental depths back to the surface to disburden him from his own hell by this aroused consciousness.

The Silence Industry – The Teeth Of Tomorrow

GENRE: Rock, Gothic Rock, Progressive Rock, Experimental![]()
Label: AFmusic
Release date: 2010
Total running time: 0:34:25
“The Teeth of Tomorrow” 5 song EP marks The Silence Industry’s 5th official release. Layers of cold guitars and driving bass riffs dominate the band’s sound in these songs of alienation and industrial decay. The Silence Industry was formed in early 2007. It consists primarily of Graham J., along with others who wish to collaborate with him on music at a given time. Right now, those collaborators consist of Laura (some guitar), Hyuma (some bass), and Josh (some noise and synths). It is not their intention to necessarily play any particular genre of music, but at the same time they are not scared of showing influences to some extent either, which range from post-punk, to prog rock, to experimental and noise music, as well as simple pop music. It is their intention to play music for the pure sake of own self expression and self actualization, not for some naive dream of becoming “rock stars” or anything of the sort.
