Waterplea – Dream Catcher
GENRE: Electronic, Ambient, Downtempo, Chill Out
Label: Mix Galaxy
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 00:41:59
Do you remember our regular contributors Waterplea who were with us from the beginning? They prepared their first solo LP to be released here. Let you not be tricked by a short tracklist for it’s a 40 minutes trip with detailed conception, ever-changing pace and mood. It takes you from your chair/sofa/bed to a deep sleep state, laying a road before you and inviting you to visit unexplored worlds drawn with blended colors of rich imagination of the authors. Traversing dark ambient soundscapes through intense vivid beats to engaging downtempo grooves this solid music piece touches dozens of different styles and evokes a broad range of emotions and pictures in listeners head.
As authors say the album was mostly composed sequentially, that’s why it was decided to keep the most of it in a single track to underline the theme of one thing transforming into another as your thoughts move from it as it often happens when you sleep. When one is seeing a dream it is hard to tell when it started or how he got here because it’s in a constant change yet all is still connected. This album is something you’d probably like to return to, because of its multilayered atmosphere and numerous details that make listener want to give it another shot to explore something he missed before. There was also a limited number of physical copies printed; images created for its booklet are included in the archive.

Trigg - Beige
GENRE: Electronic, Cinematic, Downtempo, Chill Out
Label: HumanWorkshop
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 00:46:30
Bart Knol, a.k.a Gritt also works under the Trigg moniker. He started making music somewhere mid-nineties. After creating loads of dance-orientated material, mostly as the main producer of Longplayers, he gradually became more interested in creating other kinds of music. During several years he started playing piano, guitar, percussion and brass-instruments, while experimenting with different music-styles.
His first solo-album ‘Outside Vision’ was released early 2007 under the name Velvet Overdrive. This was also his first record without any constraints regarding style or composition. This resulted in a mix of electronica, triphop, postrock and nu-jazz. His 2nd album is finished. It’s an ambient album called ‘Soil’, which will be part of an art-project with several visual artists.
A totally different style and feel. While Gritt is known for his hard hitting dubstep bangers, Trigg Is easy going, full of playfull melodies and cinematic atmospheres. It has the lofi quality of Mentz and the ethnic winks of BASIC's work. A true Humanworkshop release. Timeless cinematic electronic music.

dustmotes - equilibria
GENRE: Electronic, Ambient, Lo Fi, Downtempo
Label: Dusted Wax Kingdom
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 00:34:50
Paul Croker is a versatile artist, reflected by his various musical influences from past to present.
His love affair with the vinyl format started at the age of 4, when he was given his first 7″ single, and would grow throughout the next few decades throughout the Hip Hop, Trip Hop and Big Beat movements. During the early years, he ruined a few parentally-owned record players teaching himself to scratch and mix records. From the age of 14 he learnt the guitar, joining like minded friends from school, playing in Zeppelin/Hendrix/Floyd influenced bands, gigging all over the country at pubs, clubs and festivals. Finding particular resonance with Eastern influenced sounds, he experimented with alternate tunings and backwards phrasing, forming the core of his sound. In the 90′s after becoming immersed in the Big Beat scene in London and Brighton, Paul began to experiment with creating Digital based music, finding an affiliation with the use of samples and loops to build soundscapes. DJ’ing in local clubs, he learnt to beat mix and also layer sounds within a live environment.
After a few amazing releases for PublicSpacesLab, the talented producer and sound designer Paul Crocker (a.k.a. dustmotes) makes his debut on Dusted Wax Kingdom with another fabulous masterpiece! "equilibria" it triple distilled ambient beats elixir, spiced with wonderful vinylistic and glitchy sounds.

Gosprom - 20
GENRE: Electronic, Trip Hop, Nu Jazz, Downtempo, Chill Out
Label: Headphonica
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 00:50:55
GOSPROM is a band based in Kharkov, which is the second largest city in Ukraine. Kharkov itself is famed for its industrial prowess (tank factories and the like) and the name of the band comes from the mightily impressive modernist building of the same name (Wiki it to see what I mean)!
Comprising of Marianna Dyakova (vocals), Dmitrij Sysoev - (DJ, programming), Constantine Otkidach (guitar), Andrian Fedoseev (clarinet) and Oleg Shpakowsky (bass), GOSPROM have been ripping up the local live music scene with some belting sets that showcase their own very idiosyncratic brand of music.
The GOSPROM project is also a collective that includes designers, photographers, architects and dancers.
their lyrics are the work of some hugely talented writers like Vladimir Mayakovsky, Michael Svetlov, cult Kharkov writer Sergey Zhadan, poet Constantine Johnson and a host of other young Ukrainian poets.
Gosprom is 20. 20 is 14. But this is not about mathmatics. It is about music.

Monk Turner + Fascinoma - Emergency Songs
GENRE: Rock, Country, Pop, Gospel, Soul, Downtempo
Label: ____________
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 00:35:08
"LA is due for a massive earthquake but no one is ready. Also, the city, ergo, the state is broke, so if The Big One hits—the earthquake scientists are predicting will strike in the uncomfortable window of between now and 30 years—the citizenry will suffer.
Everyone knows it is an imminent possibility, but daily life is difficult to live while anticipating total destruction. Sounds like a sci-fi movie, but in this case, it’s just geography.
In Los Angeles, emergency management organizations and relief agencies are anticipating a crisis on par with Katrina for the City of Angels. The going rule is that individuals and families will need to have supplies for 3 days to 2 weeks, as crisis management teams focus on larger, infrastructural issues.
Enter music. A concept album conceived to awaken the imagination of the locals through song and story…charting the various phases of crisis, from pre-quake boredom, to post-quake freeway BBQ’s. The album starts with an acapella public safety address sung with the help of a backing chorus, The Emergency Choir, that returns throughout the recording to chart the journey." - Monk Turner’s official concept
