Gardens From Light – The Axis Of The Skies
GENRE: Electronic, Drone, Dark Ambient, Soundscape
Label: Resting Bell
Release date: 2012
Total running time: 00:77:00
"The Axis Of The Skies" is a huge 77-minute piece, loosely inspired by the H.P. Lovecraft story Polaris. It is designed to evoke a feeling of drifting in and out of a dream world, whilst simultaneously floating through space towards a dying star. It is divided into 5 pieces but is best enjoyed as a single long-form piece. If you take a listen, you’ll drift into a massive world of sound. Sparkling melodies; dark, droning environments and GFL's trademark use of field recordings are all there, changing around and guiding you through this journey. The climax of the piece is the fourth section, "Gravity Assist", with its slowly-evolving, harshly distorted parts changing to a very subtle and quiet passage leading into the final part of the work.

Magnetic Wind - La Petite Morte
GENRE: Electronic, Dark Ambient, Noise
Label: Rain
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 00:53:38
Working in original composition, she is conservatory trained and presently focuses on organic, electronic blends of ambient with abundant layered female vocals and field textures creating lush soundscaping. Magnetic Wind employs synthetic arpeggios, washes and melodies along with pianos, world touches, rich international percussion and soft voice effects to create charming arrangements with a cinematic depth and inviting warmth. Some pieces feature female vocals – whispered phrases, soaring wordless utterances and chants. Whether it is atmospheric or light new age, her music invokes your senses and emotion.
Born amidst a thunderstorm and delivered from her ancestors through the Thunderbird, she derives her performing name from her Mayan birthday. Heavily inspired by the Sufi poet Rumi as well as sound healing, Magnetic Wind engages in a transcendent process in creating her art and music where she becomes a conduit of spirit, vibration and sounds being performed intuitively.
"Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn, whatever state I may be in, therein to be content." - taken from the lips of Helen Keller

Plastic People – Pink Narcisius
GENRE: Rock, Alternative, New Wave, Dark Ambient, Gothic
Label: AF Music
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 00:43:41
The new raucous indie rock album from I Am The Devil.
After releasing the demo “Good As You” last year, which was quite electro-rock oriented, Sébastien Ficagna aka Plastic People decided to return to his acoustic roots on his new album “Pink Narcisius”. Accordion and folk guitars mash up with an electronic backbone and create a fascinating psychedelic post-punk cabaret.
“Pink Narcisius” is an album containing great songs, which are performed with melancholic vitality. Cold Wave, Rock and Folk mix to a winking journey into the mind of an intelligent songwriter, who embed with those cover versions of “In Heaven” from David Lynch’s cult film” Eraserhead” and Tuxedomoon’s “In A Manner Of Speaking” two idiosyncratic interpretations to his complete works.

NNID - Incoming Cataclysm
GENRE: Electronic, Dark Ambient, Experimental
Label: Crazy Language
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 00:21:55
Maybe this is the most clear and precise way for the collective NNID to express their particular worldview regarding the role of humans in their lf-destructive path towards this utopic environment created by us, at our own image and convenience. Our unstoppable trend towards regressive evolution. An intimate journey into fear and its consequences.
And the universe around us. Untamed, unknown and quasi-virgin. Is this the final frontier? The desired forbidden fruit in our inexhaustible yearning for power? The "whole", many of us refer to, tells us nothing and leaves us blank in its incoming cataclysm. This is what is known of our existence and yet we know nothing.

Agustín Medina - Fascination For Seeing The Invisible
GENRE: Electronic, Dark Ambient, Experimental, Minimal, Abstract
Label: Audiotalaia
Release date: 2011
Total running time: 00:24:02
Agustín Medina is a sound artist from Seville (Spain). Previously he was known as Medinadifez. Now a days he’s best known by its collaboration with ambient project Carrier To Noise Ratio based in Seville as well.
Medina has a minimalistic and abstract way to understand sound and composition. Medina focus its interest on creating complex sound structures in which we can hear a deep understanding of sound synthesis. As well Medina pays special attention on graving sound samples extracted from many sources as well as soundscapes.
His works have been part of different projects ranging from art to theatre working hand by hand with Cirque Du Soleil and with Atalaya TNT, 2008’s National Prize of Theatre.
Fascination For Seeing The Invisible is a short EP that runs for 24 minutes. Nevertheless, with this EP one can have a grasp of Medina’s concerns regarding, ambient music and dark atmospheres. It has some parts where extreme rhythms take over the sound range and those are juxtaposed by subtile melodies mottled by found sounds as if they where found footage for a audiovisual composition.
Finally Fascination For Seeing the Invisible is a concrete canvas of specific sound scenes, a counter part of his wider (until the date release) The Mask Of God, released at the brand new 48Laws Netlabel in which Medina is closely involved.
